Waldlabyrinth, 2003

Location: Donaupark Tuttlingen
Material: tree trunks of various dimensions, plywood panels
Dimensions: approx. 15 m x 6 m - height: 6 m

This work, designed by Johannes Pfeiffer, was created as a contribution by the Tuttlingen Forestry Office to the small state garden show in 2003. The idea of a forest labyrinth as a reminder of childhood fairy tale books. A walk-in sculpture in which we can lose ourselves. In which we can hug the sometimes huge trunks, smell the wood and feel the surface of the trunks. The densely packed trunks create the impression of the depth of the forest, the impression of an impenetrable labyrinth. The plywood panels represent the treetops that provide shade.
